What you'd want to know
Bouldering and sauna housed inside a pair of Victorian railway arches on Coldharbour Lane, between Brixton and Loughborough Junction. Yellow-stock brick walls curve overhead in the climbing arch, painted matt charcoal behind the holds. Plywood and resin bouldering walls in slab and overhang sit beneath, fitted with holds in coral, pink, purple and lime under coloured LED uplight. Deep navy crash mats cover the floor end to end. The neighbouring arch (BlocSpa) contains a cedar-lined Scandi-style Finnish sauna with tiered benches behind a steel-framed glass door, and two small cold-plunge tubs set into a tiled floor. A free-weights gym corner with stacked plates. Warm pendant bulbs and bare-bulb strings run along the apex of each arch.
Overheard
- it's owner-run by dave — if you come back twice he'll know your name. that's not a slogan, it's just the size of the place.
- adults-only, so no kids' parties on the weekend. weeknight evenings have the same handful of regulars three or four times a week.
- the sauna and plunge tubs are in the next arch over — most regulars do a session, then drift through the door for ten minutes in the heat before leaving.
- start on the slab side. the overhangs are stiff for the grade and the holds are small — it's a wall that humbles you on round one.
- bring your own chalk and shoes if you have them. the rental kit works but the regulars all carry their own.
