What you'd want to know
Underground bouldering and coworking centre on the canal-side at Andrews Road, London Fields. A large below-grade space with exposed concrete columns and a low matte-painted soffit overhead. Plywood bouldering walls run the length of the room — slab, vertical, overhang and a 45° training wall — fitted with holds in terracotta, sage, mustard and indigo. A Kilter Board sits at one end. Mid-grey crash matting covers the floor throughout. Above ground, a bright café with tall windows looks out over Regent's Canal: timber communal tables, plywood bar stools, an espresso counter and a small retail rack. Coworking desks line one wall. Industrial pendant lights overhead; concrete and steel left exposed throughout.
Overheard
- the café upstairs over the canal is half the point — plug sockets, decent coffee, people actually working between sessions.
- weekday evenings get busy from 6pm. earlier than 5 or after 9 is when you'll get the kilter board to yourself.
- the coworking pass and the climbing pass are bundled — if you're laptop-working anyway, you've paid for the wall.
- the basement room runs cold in winter, warm in summer. take your jumper down with you and leave it by the mat.
- the weekly socials are how you meet regulars. one tuesday and you'll start clocking the same faces by the kilter board.
