What you'd want to know
Bouldering and fitness centre on Ellerslie Square Industrial Estate, backing onto a working electricity substation — the name and the building's neighbour. Single-storey industrial unit in pale brick and metal cladding.
Inside, plywood bouldering walls in slab, vertical and overhang line the main hall, with bright resin holds in red, yellow, green and purple. Walls behind the climbing painted clean off-white.
A campus board, hangboards and a small free-weights gym corner along one side. Crash matting in deep navy covers the climbing floor end to end.
A reception desk with a small retail counter at the entry; gender-neutral toilets and showers tucked off to the side. Industrial fluorescent strips above; music speakers hung from the steel roof joists.
Overheard from locals
- the bouldering basics 4-week course is the proper way in — not just a one-off intro. you finish knowing how to read a route.
- 300-plus problems and a 12m roof — the roof is the visual but the regulars do their volume on the lower-angled walls.
- the sauna and cold plunge are part of the building — people climb, eat at the vegan café, then sit in the sauna for ten minutes before leaving.
- £16 peak is the highest in london — use the off-peak or student rate if you can. £7.50 student is genuinely fair.
- you'll see kids' bouldering on the weekends. that's part of the building, not a sign it's not for adults — the spaces are separated.
