A city farm is a working farm inside London — animals, growing beds and a regular rota of volunteers, usually free to visit and always glad of hands. It is one of the few places in the city where a weekly shift means feeding animals and clearing beds, which is a shortcut to knowing people.

City farms run on volunteers: there are animals to feed, beds to weed and tasks you can learn in an afternoon. Because the rota is weekly, the same people turn up, and the shared chores do the work that small talk usually does.
The 7 Spaces below all welcome visitors and volunteers, with a regular pattern you can join. Most let you walk in for free; the volunteer rota is the door to knowing the place.
