Cooking in London, outside a restaurant, mostly means community kitchens and cookery sessions: you cook in a group, and then you eat together. It is one of the friendliest formats there is, because a shared meal does the introductions a room full of strangers will not.

Cooking together is sociable for an obvious reason — the meal is the activity and the conversation at once. Community kitchens and cookery sessions run on a weekly rhythm, some of them on surplus food, and the same people turn up to chop, stir and eat.
The 8 Spaces below all run sessions you can join as a beginner, where cooking leads to a meal shared with the group. The recipe is incidental; the meal at the end is where the conversation happens.
