National community with a clear founder-led identity; London social runs end with brunch/coffee; bridges urban runners into trail running. Rotating London trail meets — Richmond Park, Wanstead, Epping, Hampstead, Grand Union Canal.

Black Trail Runners is a national community founded 2020 by Sonny Peart, Sabrina Pace Humphreys and Phil Young. London social runs rotate around the city's edge trails — Richmond Park, Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath and the Grand Union Canal. Meets gather at the trailhead car park or station entrance: muddy paths underfoot, open sky overhead, oak and beech canopy on the longer trails. The pre-run circle happens on the grass beside the meet point; the post-run brunch happens at a nearby café — the structure ends with food. Members in technical trail kit and trail shoes; the kit is a marker but not a barrier. The community is small enough that the founders or a coordinator are often at the run.

  • the london trail meets rotate. richmond park, wanstead, epping, hampstead, grand union canal — check the schedule each week.
  • you don't need trail shoes round one. trainers work; the regulars wear trail shoes because they're regulars.
  • the brunch after is part of the run. the cafe stop is the third place — don't skip it.
  • founded 2020 by sonny peart, sabrina pace humphreys, phil young. the founders are usually at the run, especially on london meets.
  • free transport to trails is part of the model. removing the barriers is the explicit work — the run is the manifestation.
