London City Runners' clubhouse sits at 130 Druid Street in Bermondsey — a 1,800 sq ft volunteer-run space on the Bermondsey Beer Mile, fronted onto a quiet railway-arch street. A converted ground-floor unit in a brick-arched former industrial building, fitted out with a long timber bar, coffee station, club-board with race photos and pace charts, and benches against the wall. Open shelving holds club kit and merch. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs leave straight from the front door, threading through Bermondsey, the Thames Path and the City. The bar opens after each run; the clubhouse pulls double duty as the post-run venue. Wednesday is track. The Beer Mile breweries (Anspach & Hobday, Fourpure, Brew by Numbers) line the same street, so the post-run pint extends easily.

  • free to join, not affiliated to a brand. tuesday, thursday and sunday runs leave 130 druid street; wednesday is track.
  • the clubhouse is the third place — 1,800 sq ft, volunteer-run, beer mile location. post-run pint isn't an afterthought, it's the structure.
  • biggest free club in london. easy to disappear in if you turn up once — stay three weeks and you'll start to know the regulars.
  • the bar opens to the public too — saturday afternoons and evenings the clubhouse fills with non-runners as well as the crew.
  • bring a fiver for a pint after; the volunteer team runs the bar. it's a club, not a business, and that shows in the rhythm.
